Sydney has a tall tower. A
very tall tower that stands 305m (1000ft) high. In fact it
was the tallest structure in the southern hemisphere until 1997.
Then the Kiwis built a tower that was 23m taller, just to piss
off the Aussies.
Sydney tries to confuse the unwary traveller, because no-one can
agree on the tower's name. Some people call it the AMP Tower
(as it has that pension company's logo on the side), others call
it the Centrepoint Tower (as you access it from the Centrepoint
Shopping Centre) whilst the guidebooks simply call it the Sydney
Tower.
